Rare fish in DREADMOOR live in named zones away from the starting lagoon, and the rare roster overlaps strongly with the night roster. There is no public in-game map grid yet, so the realistic approach is to treat the named regions as anchor zones and read the surface marks on every visit.

Named regions
Two named regions have been surfaced in preview coverage of the Submerged Lands and they are the reliable starting point for rare hunting:
- The Throat — a named region that supports deeper-water encounters.
- The Slough — a named region that mixes standard and rare rosters.
Anchor your rare-fish runs to these named zones first. Landmarks such as leviathan skulls with glowing eggs, shipwrecks, and decayed shoreline buildings all sit inside or near them.
Reading surface marks
Fishable spots are marked on the surface by fish-head icons and wheeling gulls. Pull up to a mark to reveal the local roster so you know what the zone is offering today; the same zone will rotate between common and rarer species depending on time of day and weather.
Night-only species
Stranger varieties surface only after dark in the same named zones that are quiet during the day. The highest-value catches are night species, and the traders pay a serious premium for them. Visit the same zones at dusk and again after full dark to confirm which spots unlock the night roster.
Per-species spawn coordinates are not confirmed in public coverage. Treat the named regions as the baseline for rare hunting until the full release publishes exact spawn tables.
